Bernadette Kathryn and the Lonely Days Band
Check out this great video
Coming at you head-on from the heart of the Motor City, Bernadette Kathryn is America’s newest and freshest Detroit Country Rebel. Drawing on Detroit’s long tradition of great music, from Motown to rock & roll, “B” is bringing her unique style to the world of country music.
Bernadette Kathryn is a proud to be a Nashville Recording Artist, and she has quickly become the darling of critics, promoters and venue owners who value an audience-friendly, talented approach to modern country. Bernadette combines a powerful singing voice, stage presence and a varied repertoire to create a one-of-a-kind act that has crowds everywhere clamoring for more.
Even though she has been playing the honky tonks every year in Nashville during CMA Fest since 2014, it was her 2017 appearance on the Grand Ole Opry Stage that first got major influencers from Nashville talking about this newcomer from Michigan. At an age when most singers are still fawning over their musical heroes, Bernadette nailed her debut at The Opry, and she continues to dazzle audiences from Nashville to the Midwest.
Bernadette Kathryn frequently performs solo, but is most often heard in the company of The Lonely Days Band, the Midwest’s sharpest practitioners of rocking country, from traditional to contemporary. Inspired by Patsy Cline’s “Seven Lonely Days,” these modern Lonely Days would certainly make Miss Cline proud. Their sound is a mix of classic rock, southern rock and modern country, spiced up with a healthy dose of classic Nashville.
With The Lonely Days Band, Bernadette Kathryn’s vocals and guitar are backed ably by Erik Blundell, a talented veteran of Detroit’s music scene who’s as comfortable singing as he is picking out tasty guitar licks. He’s joined by bassist Brendan Derey, who brings conservatory training and a jazz sensibility to the group, and Jim Thiede, who supplies the clean, danceable pocket on drums.
While this trio would be ample backing for almost any style, The Lonely Days Band adds the talents of Andrew Toering on pedal steel guitar, banjo and fiddle, giving the group an authentic country twang when it’s needed. For smaller venues and shows where a gentler sound is required, Bernadette Kathryn performs with the Lonely Days Trio, a stripped-down, acoustic version of the group.
Bernadette Kathryn has headlined at the Michigan State Fair, the Hazel Park Memorial Day Festival and the Anchor Bay Tastefest, as well as shows hosted by radio stations NASH, WYCD and WRIF. In addition to headlining, Bernadette Kathryn has opened for many of today’s leading national acts, such as Ashley McBride, the James Barker Band and David Lee Murphy.
